Awards terms of entry

• The competition is open to NHS staff in the UK (including staff employed by a CIC that primarily delivers NHS services) and their collaborators (from any sector) who are working on eligible projects as outlined on the medipex awards website.
• Entries will be accepted into each of the four categories; Medipex reserves the right to re-allocate any entry to a different category, or withdraw any category, for any reason whatsoever at any time.
• Any entries received after the closing date will not be accepted, and no discussion will be entered into. Medipex reserves the right to change the closing date; should a change be required we will publish it on the Medipex Awards website (www.medipexawards.co.uk) and social media (Twitter: @medipex; LinkedIn: @medipex-ltd)
• Your application must be agreed with and fully supported by your organisation. The applicant warrants that the information provided in this Application Form is accurate and truthful to the best of their knowledge.
• Failure to fulfil all of the requirements of the application process may result in your entry being disqualified.
• All entry forms will be considered in confidence with the exception of the Lay Summary section. You agree to non-confidential details about your idea (taken from the lay summary) being used in publicity around the Medipex Innovation Awards and Showcase; Medipex accepts no liability for the disclosure of any confidential information that the applicant has included in the lay summary.
• An individual or a team may submit one or more than one innovation for the competition.
• Ideas already submitted to Medipex under the normal course of events may still be entered (but will not be entered automatically by Medipex staff).
• In the event that a prize is offered this will be at the sole discretion of Medipex and it will be awarded to the lead applicant’s organisation only to further develop the applicant’s innovation as outlined in the entry form. This may be in the format of an innovation voucher or some pro bono support from Medipex or cash.
• All project ideas and designs must demonstrate originality. This may be in the form of improvements to existing products or as totally new concepts. Applications based on local implementation of national policy will not be considered unless they demonstrate originality.
• Applicants must declare any existing sources of external support that are being received in relation to the development of their idea (e.g. company sponsors, donated materials/components, grant funding); this does not affect the eligibility of the application or the scoring and Medipex will place no constraints on entrants or winning applications.
• Decisions on all matters relating to this competition will be made by Medipex judges and will be final. No discussion on these decisions will be entered into with competition entrants.
• Entries may be withdrawn up until the time of the deadline by emailing enquiries@medipex.co.uk clearly stating the wish to withdraw and details of the specific entry.
• Medipex employees or members of their families will not be eligible to enter. Competition judges may submit an entry but will not be eligible to judge any category to which they submit an entry.
• Medipex takes no responsibility for and makes no guarantee regarding the receipt of intact entries, and any loss is entirely at the entrant’s own risk.
• Medipex reserves the right to cancel or suspend the competition, or withhold any award or change its terms, conditions and rules without notice.
• Medipex will at no time pass your details on to any third party without your permission, except for the purposes of judging (and such information sharing with third parties shall be under a suitable confidentiality agreement).
• In certain cases Medipex and or its judges may feel that they or other parties or organisations may be able to offer help to progress or add value to the innovation. In such cases,
• Medipex reserves the right to contact entrants and invite them, with no obligation, to discuss the proposition with Medipex and/or its partnering organisations.
• Photographs and publicity may be arranged by Medipex during and after the awards event and all competition winners hereby agree in advance to participate.
• By entering the competition you agree to be bound by these rules and regulations.
• Medipex will use the information given in this form to contact you about the success, or otherwise, of your entry into this Innovation Competition.
