SafetyNet - The NIHR PSRC Network
We are SafetyNet, the network bringing together the six National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Patient Safety Research Collaborations (PSRCs). The PSRCs are funded by the NIHR to carry out research to improve patient safety across England, with a collective goal to address and reduce inequalities in health and social care. As a network, our goal is to amplify the collective expertise, knowledge, and resources across the six PSRCs. By working collaboratively, we can maximise our ability to deliver relevant, impactful research that responds to the needs of patients, carers, and the health and care system.
Since launching in September 2023, SafetyNet has already supported the delivery of several cross-PSRC events and collaborative activities designed to strengthen partnerships and accelerate the impact of patient safety research across England.

NIHR HRC Long-term conditions (Devices for Dignity)
Devices for Dignity (D4D) is one of 14 NIHR HealthTech Research Centres and is hosted at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. D4D has a national remit, with a unifying, holistic approach focusing on the development of HealthTech that preserves dignity and promotes independence for people living with long-term conditions. D4D works across the age spectrum, focusing on enabling people to ‘live their lives well for longer’ recognising that health conditions are frequently managed in isolation, not always effective for patients or in identifying the most suitable technology. D4D supports companies, academics and clinicians through the innovation pathway, including generating robust evidence regarding value, provision of expertise, facilitating economic, patient and public benefits.
